THE IMPORTANCE OF AUDIOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT AT WILLIE ROSS

A major component of our newly expanded mission is the emphasis on audiological services throughout both campuses.  The use of the students’ residual hearing is encouraged and supported through the work of the school’s educational audiologists at the Curtis Blake Center for Audiological Services at the LongmeadowCampus.  Both audiologists are regular visitors to the classrooms at both campuses, where students’ responses to auditory stimulation, use of residual, student management of FM auditory training equipment are monitored.

Evaluation, repairs, and recommendations for individual use of hearing aids and auditory training equipment are made through visits to the Curtis Blake Center.  Students with cochlear implants receive appropriate services to maximize the benefit of their implants.
